Don't have a clue who he is? Have no idea what he's done? Wish you knew who he was? Wish I wouldn't have asked? Lol. I'm a big fan of Mr Mandela.

Before his presidency, Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist and leader of the African National Congress and its armed wing Umkhonto we Sizwe. He spent 27 years in prison, much of it on Robben Island, on convictions for crimes that included sabotage committed while he spearheaded the struggle against apartheid. Seemed to think he was a singer or something. Having never met Mandela, I couldn't attest to his personal merit (hey, maybe the guy's a jerk), but he stands for something that I have no end of respect for.

That makes lots of sense, we sort of assume he's a decent guy because of everything he's done...but having never met him either, I can't so conclusively about his character. His actions are the thing to be commended.
